Creature Icons project

A project for my graphic design class where we had a make a series of useful icons and place them in their use case.

For my project I chose to do icons for kids to identify bugs and other things they could find when exploring nature. Some of these things are hazards or may just appear scarier than they actually are. The idea was for kids of various reading skill levels all being able to use these icons. Utilizing strong shape and color language for the over all shape of the icon to communicate their hazard level. The idea was also that this could be a print out sheet with b&w friendly designs as well as an app that children could easily explore and learn about these animals.
