2023 Year End Summary
Wowie, 10 years of doing these year end art summaries. It’s wild when it really starts to hit you, didn’t really dawn on me until I was warping up the image haha! the base i made is only 6 years old but still wild.
None the less this year was wild, like jan-may feels like ages ago. This past semester was rough, great, but I had so little time for myself. Now I’m on path to graduate this next semester, wonder what things are going to look like after that… My head space has been very… cluttered is probably a good way to put it.
Its also wild that I managed to start and finish a comic all in one year, without rushing either, at least not to an unhealthy extent hah.
Admitably it feels like I didn’t draw a lot, my sketchdumps were all pretty full but as far as finished pieces the count is pretty small, untill I remember I also did 40 comic pages so I gotta keep my head up there hah.
I’ve also been on HRT for over a year now and it’s been great, seriously improved aspects of my life I didn’t know had issues. I’ve been shy about mentioning anything trans about myself directly but confidence in being myself proudly has been a long standing issue so where a better place to start!
Anyways lets get into this list!
January
Daniel GI Commission
I did commissions this year! And i think it went pretty well! I drew a surprising amount for January, usually its pretty slim pickings. This had to be my favorite from that commission batch, love how it turned out overall 🙂
February
Carrion Rapotor Idle Animation
THIS FUCKER (beloved) HAHA. God I cant believe I made this lil raw chicken this year, the animation has some rough edges but man I really love it, I’ve made several more animation with this lil bugger one of my favorite models I’ve made so far!

Skull on a fence
I’ve had this as my lock screen on my phone since I drew it haha. I remember really taking my time with this one and enjoying the process
April
TDOV Anmt
Ah this drawing, I don’t remember what came over me when I drew it but man I remember it being refreshing. Still love this drawing.

Dark with a knife necklace
I think this was the only thing I uploaded in May, I do still like it though. Remember it being very pleasing to draw and apparently I streamed this lol
June
RoA Pride 2023
I think this was my only drawing in June, it’s a little rushed and I’m not super happy with it but it still looks nice.
July
Damien (Art Fight)
I think the most art I made was in July, pretty typical given it’s art fight haha. I was actually a little torn on what one to pick but went with this one because it’s so sick and i learned a good with how to make textures look really neat!
August
A Queen’s Diary PG 8
So breaking a few self imposed rules with this one, its a comic page and its an unreleased comic page hah. I was going to originally put a doodle from my sketch dump for that month here and then I remembered the comic I JUST FINISHED. I had a hard time gauging when I finished the first 3 pages but I also really like this page and I could nail down when I finished it. This page prominently features the one pose from that really nice and fluid thumbnail I initially did and love haha. It’s just a very pleasing page.
It probably wont be up until like February heh.

Worm Gators
A little spur of the moment thing for Comicfury! other wise I don’t think I drew much else for September. Nothing I’m too proud of but didn’t draw much else.

Candy Bovine
Oh hey another animation! I never uploaded this one here! I know i posted it to tumblr and youtube but never shared a smidge of it here. I had two other pieces from this month to pick from, both of them I really didn’t like, glad I remembered this one because I love it haha.
November
Oh the places you’ll go
Love this one, it was so joyful and carefree to make. It was definitely a moment of catharsis for me when I drew this, alot of stuff rattling inside my head causing me stress and anxiety and all that fun stuff.
December
The Pillar (The video is the revised version completed in 2024)
My final for a composting class for this fall semester. This was wild to make, that is me in the video, I did about 10 takes in front of a green screen in a room that was probably 12ft x 6ft. It was wild to bring this thing together in the span of like 2 weeks. Since I got more into 3d I’ve been itching to do an animation with live action so this was sick af to do. The animation is definitely clunky at parts but I’m still quite new to this all!
turns out in my last year end summary I thought I’d be wrapping up my degree this year, definitely not, I’m glad i didn’t even try to! But I know in 2024 I will be, literally set to this spring semester. I’m scared for what my life is going to look like after I graduate, mostly because it’s a bunch of unknowns. My current job is “student help” so not sure whats going to happen there, I’ve been in college so long this has become my typical. The new free time will be nice, might try to put more effort into my comic stuff and see if I could turn that into something. I’ve also got some other big changes in my life potentially happening next year
Onward to 2024!
